    Interesting thread:)- The weight issue is something that really does need to be accounted for. I have a Nikon 300 f2.8

    I’ll second Buzz…and I’m a 20 something.

    Why not just fish an 8 weight and save your shoulder?  I have put quite a few fish in the boat that have bent an 8wt to the cork while using flies just like the one you’re showing above.

    I use a 9′ #8 S4 with a Rio Clouser 8 if it’s worth anything.

    Mike- not sure where you are in Ont but there a few guides on LOTW that work out of Winnipeg that do Muskie in the Kenora area . One in particular young Andrew Klassen – Google his site- regularly does 50″ + Muskie for clients.

    Hi

    Whenever I have done palmered marabou for spey/speyish/psuedospey/marabou wooly buggers I have stripped one side of the feather and that way avoided the issue of folding/crushed barbs. Same approach as using goose or BPH etc

    Nothing like the hills of home, Lawrence. I read a statement by novelist Daniel Woodrell yesterday in which he call the Ozarks “the least governable region of America.” 🙂

    Yes sir. If you let epoxy cure it will develop a residue that can affect the adhesion of the later coats.

    Thank you one and all for the comments. I like the Butler Creek shot too. It was one of those hazy, high sun days, and I didn’t think I’d get any good shots, but the lighting on that one had something about it. The wind added a sheen to the water also.

    Bet no one noticed the two pairs of geese flying in the lower right over the water :-).
