I just came across a small interview/profile with photographer Paolo Marchesi on Communication Arts’ website. Paolo has shot a variety of fly fishing projects and swings the long stick himself. Sage, Orvis, and TU are just some of his names that grace his client list; so there’s a good chance you’ve seen his work.

Thanks for sharing this Chad. Paolo’s work is excellent and probably one of the most copied styles in fly fishing photography. I didn’t know until you posted this link (and looking at his portfolio http://www.marchesiphoto.com/) that he originated many of the fine-art filter effects we have come to associate with fly fishing photography. His SAGE work in particular is a commonly reproduced style.

Yes, his work for SAGE is some of my favorite work of his. The cover of the SAGE catalog in B&W is the one work of his that I remember seeing in a shop that made me pick up the catalog.
