The Itinerant AnglerI hooked into a carp last weekend on the river I was canoeing down. He drug me 300 yards upstream before I could get the canoe beached and fight him properly. What ridiculous fun.

The Itinerant AnglerI previously worked for 3M, in their orthodontic products division. They make a UV light curable adhesive used for placing brackets on teeth – I don’t know a ton about it, but it’s probably somewhat similar to what you had listed. I’ll talk to a sales rep I know and see if he can offer any more info about it…

The Itinerant AnglerThere’s trout fishing and even some big trout in pay to play rivers (not my thing, though).

The Itinerant AnglerGo for it and more than welcome.

The Itinerant AnglerNo,

The Itinerant AnglerWell there’s a nice Old Towne Discovery 169 in the Garage Sale that would probably meet your needs perfectly, but I don’t know how you’d get it up there.

The Itinerant AnglerHey!

The Itinerant AnglerI can see where TWRA is coming from; the carp is a “mistaken introduction” fish, an invasive non-native immigrant that outcompetes native fish.

The Itinerant AnglerOk, looks like we’re looking at a D80 for certain, retail $900 for the body, no word on the bundled lens, if any, yet.

The Itinerant AnglerI actually did float an idea similar to that – I would go to Korea and review the production facilities and conditions.

The Itinerant AnglerNice!
I’m very jealous.

The Itinerant AnglerHey greybeard –
Welcome to the board, by the way.

The Itinerant AnglerWhat good timing on this thread – I am currently nearly ready to make a digital purchase. I’m swaying between the Nikon D200 and the Canon 30D – it looks like it’s going to go the way of the Nikon. I’m not a pro, but have been heavily involved in photography for 20 years, working for newspapers, universities, etc. I’ve used Nikon in the past so I’m comfortable with the Nikon menu system. I really think the 5D is amazing but I can’t justify spending that much if it isn’t my profession. The difference between the D200 and the 30D really comes down to a Honda vs. Toyota debate, in my eyes. They both seem to be a great product with a few features that oust one another here and there. I hate to say it, but in the end, I like how the Nikon sits better in my hand than the Canon does – which is somewhat influencing my decision. Scary, but true.
Anyway, thought I’d chime in here.

The Itinerant AnglerHey DMK –
I can’t run it on this slow old computer, but I definitely want to have it in the quiver in the near future.
