MemberHey Phil,
I didn’t say it was necessary for all. In fact I said “I certainly don’t believe you have to have the FFF cert. to be a good instructor.”

MemberHey guys,
Are there any particular times of day that are better for going after these fish? My understanding
is that the hours just before and after dawn and dusk are best.ty goodwin

The FFF has a study pack for the CI test. Go to fedflyfishers.org and click the FFF Gear tab.
The “Books” section has the study aid pack. “The Essentials of Fly Casting” by Bill Gammell
is included in this.ty goodwin

Member1. Casting Angles by Mac Brown is excellent. A must read for casting junkies.
2. The Nature of Flycasting by Jason Borger. An interesting approach to casting.
3. Selective Trout by Swisher and Richards.
4. Emergers, also by Swisher and Richards.
5. Flyfishing Guide to the Great Smoky Mountains by Don Kirk is great and
has a permanent spot in my backpack.
And like pretty much everyone else I enjoy reading anything by John Gierach.Great thread. Thank you guys for your suggestions.
