Fished there a couple of times in the fall – hit the mullet run once and fishing was pretty good, missed it the other time and fishing not so good. Incoming tide can bring snook, jacks whatever around the bridge; fish the surf on the oceanside (we had better luck on the north side than south).

Wade fishing down in the Bear Trap can be fun too…kinda snakey though. Cheers.

I’d think the water would be a bit warm by late July since Ennis Lake’s a big thermal sink, but with the precip this year all bets are off.  What’s a buzzworm or two anyway?

    Scott

ps – read over on the Kingfisher site that Montana FWP may extend the float season on Rock Creek:

Going to be a killer mosquito year year here so stock up on feet if you are heading this way!

    Joel,

Think you meant stocking up on “Deet” not “feet”, yes?  🙂

We are staying at all of the old lodges in Glacier National Park.  I understand the fishing is not good, but I thought I would give it a shot anyway.

    Bob,

Glacier’s certainly not up to Yellowstone standards but some fish can be found.

I’ve got a LL 490-2 that I love, but bringing it on a plane is problematic and I will not check rods so it stays behind when I go out west (built a 9′ 4wt 4pc on a Forecast blank and I like that almost as much).

Beautiful pics and a great report (heck of a brookie there, too).

I’ve been using an Aquamira filter bottle for about 10 years and have never felt the wrath of Montezuma.
It goes in an old fanny pack that has 2 bottle holders (pepper spray, when needed goes in the other holder); doubles as a wader belt.
