I have a pair of Cabelas Guide waders.  I had $150 in gift cards and needed new waders and the Guides were one of the few pairs that came in a long enough size for me to actually wear.  I have very few complaints about the waders after 2 years and about 30 days worth of wading.  There is one thing I feel obligated to warn you about.  The legs on these waders are narrow.  If it was a business suit, i would describe it as an athletic cut.  I have rather thick calves and when I have wool socks and a pair of flanel wading liners it can get a bit tight.  It isnt really uncomfortable, but I definitely notice it when trying to put the waders on or take them off.

    Let the bunny live!!!!!111one

I have only been married two years at this point and I am already wise enough to know that $10 spent at a retail shop > having dead bunny guilt trips held over my head for the next few years.

As a Kansas boy I feel the need to comment.  I have seen a few cows in my time.

A large number of standing cows, specially when you would expect them to be layng down in the heat,

    Good story Matt.

Unfortunately as a Kansas City resident I know the Missouri trout parks all too well.  Bennett Springs is the closest trout water I can touch at 3 hours away.  I spend hour after hour meticulously doting over my gear.  I pick through the flies at the local shop looking for the perfectly tied masterpiece.  I walk half a mile of the river picking out the perfect hole and approach before i dare get my boots wet.  All that time and effort to have a random local standing 6 feet from me dragging a 6 ounce spoon through my hole with his zebco that still has Wal-Mart tags hanging off it.

Trout parks make me feel dirty on the inside. These are the same people that come to our annual garage sale and argue over a $1 cd player.

    Ok done venting…..

Long time snooper, figured I might as well post…

Name is Jerod and I am from the midwest, Kansas City to be more specific.  I was a dedicated hiker and gear collector until I turned about 30 and decided that weekend trips carrying 50 pounds worth of gear wasn’t so much fun anymore on my back and knees.  I have always been a fisherman but a friend talked me into a weekend fly fishing trip at a Missouri trout park and I was hooked.  Fly fishing has proved to be a great new choice for collecting expensive and seldom used gear.  I can still enjoy the day outside in touch with nature and still be a short car ride from a nice steak, a warm shower, and a comfortable bed.

I feel very lucky to have great fisheries such as the White, Taneycomo, Norfork, and the Little Red basically within a few hour drive.  I call Taneycomo my home water and spend every 3 day weekend I can muster down there.  I am also a dedicated night fisherman.  Big browns are always a challenge, but when you are minus a couple of your senses and on edge from the being scared in the thick fog and darkness, it is a feeling of exhilaration thats hard to describe.

I recognize some of the names here from some other more regional boards so I already feel at home.
