JackMemberGreat fishing!
JackMemberLooks like some awesome fishing Zach!
JackMemberSounds like a great few days fishing. I’ve heard that catch and release is not allowed in Germany is there different rules for certain rivers?
JackMemberGreat story!
JackMemberAwesome stuff! I wish we had that sort of fishing in Ireland.
JackMemberSome great photos there. Iceland is such a cool place. I can’t wait to get back there.
JackMemberEnjoy it! Im desperate to get back now.
JackMemberAwesome fish!
JackMemberGreat read there Zach.
JackMemberVery cool Snaevarr. I remember seeing loads of signs warning about cars crashing and some wrecked cars on the side of the road when I was there a couple of years ago.
JackMemberVarmá has some really nice trout, I’m talking up to 15 lbs brown trout! And Fossá will be an adventure, you’ll probably be fishing in some pools that have never been fished before! Best of luck!
I don’t think I’ve ever tied so many flies in preparation for a trip I’m pretty excited for it!
JackMemberSnaevarr, I’ll be fishing on the Varma river for two days and then we have an opportunity to fish the Fossa above the main waterfall. I’ve been told that it has not been fished a whole lot so it’ll be interesting to see if there is many fish about. I’m sure there will be a lot of walking involved!
JackMemberIm heading to Iceland as well in June. We are doing a self guided trip so hopefully wont get skunked! The rivers we are fishing are a bit smaller though so should have a better chance of finding the bigger fish if they are around. We might also have access to a river that has not been fished a whole lot which will be interesting.
@Zach where abouts in Iceland are you going?
JackMemberHi Dave I sent you a message there if you’ve any questions for me.
JackMemberThanks guys.
Dave most of the rivers I have fished on the west coast seem to have that bit of colour in them from the peat bogs. This was the first time I have fished this particular river and even with some extra water coming down it was perfectly clear.
JackMemberSome more I tied up the other day.

JackMemberGood read.
JackMemberLooks like a fun trip.
JackMemberI fished the Varma river which flows through the town of Hveragerdi. Its only 40mins from Reykjavik. It hold’s sea run browns and resident browns. Pretty reasonable priced fishing as well.

JackMemberThat was a good listen. Thanks Zach.
I’m pretty jealous! I’ve hopefully another trip to Iceland next summer. A new airline is doing direct flights from Dublin to Reykjavik now so its actually become quite affordable.
