    Great info, the diam of tubes is something I would have never envisage being a future problem,
    yes the allen wrench has worked OK, just don’t want to damage my “new” jaws, recently replaced them after many years,
    I did bind some thread on one end of the wrench but soon cuts away,
    Next mission,
    Some tube poppers!

    I guarantee you that first fly will catch fish!

    You wouldn’t believe it, the second fly, (the chartreuse one), was the gun fly on our snook,

    My white bait fish pattern which is a sort of “slim” Fatboy also worked well

    Hi Zach,
    I’m thinking one of these
    As I already have a D700 but I’m not taking out the D700 on the boat or crossing any rivers anytime soon
    Also, I already have the Nikon editing software that is very handy
    Should be the go for fly fishing or extreme weather

     Is it weighted some on the front end?

    it is weighted in the middle with the normal freshwater fly tying lead wire, the .010 size,

    Hi Justin,
    Well, first attempt,
    Not too flash but hope it will catch one of our local snook which have been around 4-5lb which is large for my location
    I have been catching them fairly slim “fatboys” in white,
    will see how this one goes,
    Used allen key for mandrel
    Tube from cotton bud,
    Ezy body tube for main body,

    Much appreciated,
    Decided to start with the “cotton bud” tubes and using the allen key option,

    As you can guess, I have a couple of questions 🙂
    I notice there is a never ending supply of parts for tying tubes, including weights, heads etc
    When using “non-standard” tubes,
    What do you use for weight?
