MemberSorry to weigh in late on this thread.
I fished about a week in Patagonia in February this year, on the Collon Cura and Mallejo rivers and a day at Lago Tromen. All with Lucas Rodriguez from http://trafulriveroutfitters.com/ Traful River Outfitters. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
We stayed in several places, but I enjoyed the folks and facilities at Quemquemtreu http://www.quemquemtreu.com/ the most, though it’s hard to find fault with the fishing closer to Junin de los Andes (the Mallejo and Lago Tromen, which we fished out of a lodge called San Huberto.) The fish there were bigger and took hoppers eagerly, but I liked the float fishing on the Collon Cura better.
We flew in and out of BA, which proved to be kind of a PITA, since the in-country transfers to Bariloche eat up a day in each direction. If I were doing it again, I’d either plan an overnight in BA, so I could see more than the duty-free lounge for 6 hours (flight schedules there being more like suggestions) or fly in and out of Santiago, Chile.
My dad’s booked three trips of this sort through an outfit called Guided Connections, http://guidedconnections.com/, and Patty Reilly really does seem to do a good job of finding and vetting the providers she books.
PM for more details?

MemberMeh. I’m more excited about Bell’s (http://www.bellsbeer.com/) being available in GA, finally. I don’t drive up to MI as much as I used to, so I’d been having to bring back more and budget it better. I was very pleased to see Oberon, even in Gainesville, last weekend, and the folks at Trappeze here in Athens have given Bell’s a call-out box in the beer menu…
The timing and similarity of the marketing blitz for this intro makes me wonder if Bell’s and Fat Tire aren’t both handled by Savannah Distributing in Tucker.

Memberwe got one named “hooter’
we renamed one “lefty” cuz one day he up and left. a week later showed up with porcupine quills in his face. at which point we renamed him “lucky”
Yeah, I had a friend who named a dog Wanda, “because one day she just wanda-d up.”
I’m lobbying hard for a puppy so I can name it Knowshon, but my GF says I have to build her a fence, first.
Knowshon’s own dog is named “Papi,” BTW.

As an adjunct to methods such as this, a visit to the school’s library is a great idea.

MemberSince this looks to be turning into a rod-warranty thread, I’ll add that I just snapped the middle section of my 6′ St Croix AVID 4wt and the turnaround on their $40 return was under 2 weeks. I used their website to automagically generate the return label, too. Slick.
