    FYI….From the New Belgium website:

    Q. Where can I find your beers?

    A. Good question. Crucial, really. We are a regional craft brewer distributing throughout the western United States. You can find most or all of our line in Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  Coming this year: South Dakota, Wisconsin, Indiana, South Carolina, and Georgia! Some of our Beer Rangers are online with Twitter and would be happy to answer questions; see our Community and Twitter pages.

    ….and on their message board:

The GA Beer Ranger, Chip, can be reached at 404-520-9740 for further distribution information.

Of equal importance is that Fat Tire can now be found in an aluminum can! Now mind you, I prefer my beer in a bottle, but this has become important since our curb-side recycling stopped taking glass bottles here in Kansas City. Though, I had to procure some freezer space from the wife for frosty mugs in the absence of beer in the bottle.

Glass is also banned in many waterways, ball parks, and other places.

Just got it here in Indiana, no Germany hefe-weizen, but it will do.

I heard a rumor that it was here in South Carolina and stopped in at Green’s last week.

It’s all 22’s here in GA for now. Fat Tire does have a diff label than normal that says “Georgia on my Ride”

But for the love of the hop, WHY?  Why would a man in Georgia yearn for Fat Tire when you can get Sweetwater 420 in the freakin’ soda fountains in GA?  I’ve had some Fat Tire, and I guess it’s not something I’ve ever gotten that whipped up about.

Since it’s available in TN maybe I need to buy a sixer again.  If nothing else, I could boil brats in it.  Or make chili.  Something you’d be hard pressed to to in GA.

I have its cousin next to my hand at the moment, so I believe I will enjoy it now.

Abe….I guess it’s the proverbial forbidden fruit…..before May 1st we couldn’t get it….and that’s why we want it.

I am going out to Colorado in late August and arrive at DIA at 11:00.  I’m thinking about trying to bust up to The Fort and doing the O’Dell Brewing Company tour and might try to sneak over to New Belgium Brewing as well.  I think they are a block or two apart in distance.

The New Belgium Brewing tour was one of our most favorite parts about our last trip to Colorado.  Impressive and makes you want to drink more of their products.

I may have posted this before, but I went to a flyfishing film tour showing in the New Belgium theater room last fall.

While Orvis was having it’s Orvis Days in Norcross, Georgia, I was actually able to sample the 1554 and a regular Fat Tire beer. The 1554 was fantastic and on May 11th Fat Tire was suppose to be released in Atlanta as far as I know. Great Beer!!!

Meh.  I’m more excited about Bell’s (http://www.bellsbeer.com/) being available in GA, finally.  I don’t drive up to MI as much as I used to, so I’d been having to bring back more and budget it better.  I was very pleased to see Oberon, even in Gainesville, last weekend, and the folks at Trappeze here in Athens have given Bell’s a call-out box in the beer menu…

The timing and similarity of the marketing blitz for this intro makes me wonder if Bell’s and Fat Tire aren’t both handled by Savannah Distributing in Tucker.
