    Alright I’m Back!

It was… interesting! Everything that once was is no more. Everything thing has changed, but it could be good. There are some nice new deep runs that werent there before, the bad thing is you damn-near have to have a rope and harness to get to them. I cought quite a few stockers and a few small browns. That is better than the last ‘pre-flood’ trip i took. I had a pheasant tail with a zibra midge trailing, and they were hitting both. One thing that no flood could ever wash away though… BAIT CASTERS! Countless and seemed to be multiplying. I literally saw two commercial vans drop off 30 of them. >:( There is still work to be done, but if you aint got anything better to do I would recommend it.
    Until next time…

    Dusty,

I thought about heading up there this weekend. I need to get out of this town and blow off some steam. I havent decided when I will head that way, maybe thursday night but more than likely friday. I wanted to get some breathable waders before I head up there. I know you say it is ‘wet wading’ season, but last july i was freezing in that water. I don’t handle the cold very well. You interested in going this weekend. I will more than likely stay in the Hochatown inn again, but might head to Texarkana one night for my nephews birthday. Let me know if your in.

Thanks for all of yalls help. It looks like I have a lot more options than I thought. It’s funny, I said name-brands dont matter to me, but when Zach recommended the orvise waders I got all excited. I guess it does matter, atleast for quality sake.

    Well… I didnt go.
I called the three rivers fly shop before I left and a nice lady told me that the water was over the spill way and they were about to open the flood gates. Maybe next week will be better. By the way Wes, that is a beautiful fish.

    Thanks Wes.
I am heading that way. I appreciate all you advise. I will let you know how it went, and maybe we could all meet up there sometime.

Dusty. I am out of school until june 2. Let me know when you are ready to do some fishing. Except this weekend. Unfortunetly I have to go to the rangers game and sit in one of the luxury boxes. Then they are making me stay afterwards to watch Robert Earl Keen play… how bad does that suck.

    Thanks again

    This could be true.

You’ll have to cut me a hell of a deal on your old stuff. I am just an unemployed 5th year college student.

We will head to fork real soon. Lately the wind has just been killing us out there. We have been having a lot of trouble with the trolling motor too, but Iam pretty sure it pissed my dad off enough to go get a new one. I would say we could go this weekend but I am about to catch a flight to the NYC.

So, if you are reading this post and live in New York, please keep your eyes peeled for a loud-mouthed Texan. Make sure he is alright.
My only goal is to go to Time Square and take a picture with the naked cowboy. Just the two of us in our undies and boots.

Also, for my previous post. I would like to thank Mike. Sorry I dont know the last name, but he helped me out a lot too. If your in the DFW and need anything or have a questions, I believe he works in the Bass Pro Shop’s River Fly Shop in Grapevine. (Is that right Dusty?)

Well you are correct Dusty, it is plum lake. I know it is a glorified puddle, but atleast I am outside and fishing. The worst day fishing is still better than most days of doing anything else (evening activities excluded). Like i said I am new to the fly world and mainly use it to practice my casting. Occasionally however, I would like to have a reason to reel it in. So tomorrow i am going to take Rob and Lee’s and everybody else’s hints.

Lee.. I regret to inform you that Graham Central closed down a few years back. I know you are dissappointed!  :'(

Dusty! Maybe I will try the kiddy pond tomorrow. If any of those punks try to get in my way, I’ll take them down like I did you at Melvin’s.  Plus I think it is based on maturity level and not age, so i’ll be alright. Spring break is march 16-20. Lets head down to the Brazos, I’ll let you teach me how to fly fish. I need to make up for the day I taught you to dove hunt.

    Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone for the advice. I on the bank, but I have tried wading out a little. I cant wade to far out because of the mud bottom. It is like quick sand. Thanks for the book title, I am definetly looking into that. Thanks again, everything sounds really helpful. I will try it next week and report back my results. I am off to Lake Fork to catch the pre-spawn. Wish me luck!
