How do the bear attacks at Yellowstone compare to human/bear interaction in Canada and Alaska?

Historically, they’ve had bears, wolves, and more natural amounts of food supply up north for a lot longer than it’s been present in Yellowstone.

I think it’s also a real good idea for anglers to do everything they can to increase their party size to at least three individuals.

Helpful hint – this party should consist of you, your fishing buddy, and one fat, slow person with bacon in their backpack.

Here it is floating in about 4″ of water:

    Sweet.

I had a mole cut off my shoulder earlier this year but it turned out to be benign.

On the other hand, my dermatologist’s nurse was so hot that I think I’m going to skip the sunscreen from now on.

Still wracked by guilt, I see.

I was so discombobulated after watching you take twenty minutes to land that little brown trout that I forgot to keep my running line on the casting deck.

I didn’t know those existed.  Good tip.  Are they made of like Teflon or something?

Depends on the ones you get – as noted above, most of them are made of a slick plastic.

Your boat will be lighter than mine, but carpeted bunks still tend to kind of grab a fiberglass boat and make it tougher to slide off.

BD, I agree with you a drift boat has no place in Tennessee where you live, its much more fun and safe for 3 guys to fly fish out of a canoe  ::)

What Jarrod means to say is, “I feel terrible about that time Brian lost the top end of his rod out of my drift boat during generation, the current was too swift to row back upstream, and I didn’t have a motor to go back for it.

You may want to get some bunk slicks for the trailer.

[ch8206]’Anglers who go down the river in boats learn best the language of water.”

    Oh, I agree absolutely.

I read this discussion with great interest, but I just can’t get into driftboats.

    Hard to say.

is that paint splatter all over the floor ?  :-/

    He’d better hope so.

My boat is white, which looks pretty sharp, but I have found I have to sponge it off when I pull it out of the river every time to keep from getting a scum line stain along the sides – especially when I’ve been carp fishing.

I think if I had to paint one, I might consider light brown.

I definitely want to see a picture of your rod tube setup when you’re done.

Popped the rub rails so I can sand and paint properly

I need to add “popping the rub rails” to Brian D’s Canonical List of Things that Sound Dirty but Aren’t.

The boat is looking very good.

I am not sure how devoted you are to exclusively fly fishing.

By the way, if you haven’t read this article, it’s a good source of introductory-level information:

Are you staying at Victoria House on Ambergris Caye?

Ha!   I think you’re overestimating the quality of my legal services…

    Hey, what do I know?
