A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

I ordered the Continental Tourer which is a five piece seven foot three inch four weight.  I plan on using it as a travel/backpacking rod.

    Nice looking rod Cameron!
This was the exact same rod I have been thinking about getting one.

I’m really impressed by the looks of it.
How can the action be described (I know it’s almost impossible).
Can’t wait to read your stuff after you’ve been fishing with it.

I too want this rod for traveling when fishing isn’t a real plan but still bring along a very packable rod + lanyard.

Jay…describing rod action is usually pretty tough to explain…but one of the fellows on the Fiberglass Flyrodders site came very close with this explination.

Cameron, any new insights on the rod?
Have you tried casting different lengths? Different conditions?

I am sitting at Gate 2 at the Columbia Metro Airport right now and about to embark on three flights this evening to get into Bozeman by tonight.

I received my rod (same one as Cameron) today.
Wow, what a nifty little rod it is!
It casts a #4 line superbly: smooth as an eel! What really amazes me is the back bone of this fella. It casts a 40 feet with ease and still maintaing smoothness.

5 pieces is just perfect for taking it along back packing, traveling when fishing isn’t really planned yet you never know what you encounter, etc.

The small grip is perfect for my small hands too. It is paired with a Winston Perfect reel  (the small one) and it’s a handsome set too.

Can’t wait to try it out on the German graylings & trouts mid September!

Cameron, did you know that the rod casts a #3 line with authority?

I was just bored so I took out the rod from the empty room in my new house and saw this Orvis CFO with a WF3. Ah what the heck and put it on the rod and started casting a short line on the deck. Wow! This rod really picks up even with just about 5-8 feet!

I was thinking about getting the #3 rod too but now, I’ll just put a #3 line on it when the conditions are really spooky.

Try it your self and let us know what you think about it!

I’ve got a 3DT around for my Scott “F”…I’ll give it a try at some point.

Let me know what you think about the Fenwicks performance with a #3 line!
