Wow, great photos! I am embarrassed to say I have never been to Yellowstone, but that will change next summer.

It’s a Primus EtaPower we got off of SteepandCheap.com explicitly for this trip.

Zach, that is exactly what I am looking for! Will it simmer, because I know a lot of the stoves have 2 settings, off and full bore.

Did the windscreen make a difference in your opinion?

    Cole –

It will simmer but mostly in a very defined circle in the middle.

Not flip-flops, Will.  Chacos.   🙂  Good for all kinds of hiking.  It was warm, and I had heard the hike into Trout Lake was very vigorous, so I wanted to be in something cooler than waders and boots and something less likely to give me blisters than a pair of relatively new wading boots (which, though comfortable in their own right, had raised some pretty sore spots on the hike into Slough).  Hence the sandals.  Very comfy; no rubbing in the heel area.   🙂  On our last trip to the park, I hiked into Slough in my old Chacos and wet waded there.  That was much less pleasant, especially since I saw three snakes that day and just knew there were many more in the grasses around my feet that I couldn’t see.   😮

I think Steepandcheap.com is a division of Backcountry.com, so you might check there.

Lauren, are you sure were not related? I am one of the only guys/girls in my circle of friends that is scared of snakes. I am not scared of them in the manner that they are going to strike me, more of what I am going to do myself trying to get away from them.

I don’t like the thought of snakes, Cole.

I don’t like the thought of snakes, Cole.  I get creeped out in the pit of my stomach just thinking about them.

Sure you aren’t related to the Laneys of Alabama.
