MemberZach, I can bring any cooking equipment you may need. Just name it and I’ll pack it. (or get it to you so you have it with you – we are close enough to share the load)

The Itinerant AnglerKevin –
We’re going to need more burners at a minimum.

Bob RigginsMemberRight now, all I have is a fork, a knife, a spoon, a plate, a cup, a 1 burner backpack stove and a sleeping bag. As you can see, I’m not a big camper. I plan on buying a tent and an air mattress.
I will be more than happy to supply any food necessary. Maybe I can bring a couple dozen eggs and bacon for the other (non pancake) breakfast.
If we have electrical service, I can bring a 10 cup coffee maker. I don’t have anything for stove or fire though.
From the post, I assume everyone is responsible for their own lunches and we are going out to a restaurant one night. Does this sound right?
Is anyone flying into Atlanta and ariving late Thursday evening? If so, I am driving up from Florida and may be able to time picking you up.

MemberI have a multiple coleman stoves one has the griddle built in and is perfect for pancakes and bacon, It is propane and really easy to control the flame. The other is a 3 burner multifuel (coleman fuel, kerosene) guide coleman. I do not have a coffee pot but will invest in one, it is something I need so it is not a big deal. I am changing over from backpacking to drive up camping so this is all budgeted in my replacing of stuff that I once had.
If there is electricity… I could bring the catering coffee pot for everyone. 50 cups. Making Coffee a non-issue.

The Itinerant AnglerBob –
We’re basically going to be there for lunch and supper Friday, breakfast, lunch and supper Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday.

Bob RigginsMemberSince I will not be providing any equipment, I will supply all the eggs, bacon, grits, etc. of the other breakfast.

MemberJust booked the Elk Cabin. Will look at flights tonight, not anything direct from AZ to NC or TN. Looks like the easiest thing to do is fly into Asheville and drive in from there. Can we expect the temps to be in the fifties? Trying to figure out how to pack for my two year old.
thanks,
aIn nearby Bryson City, NC, the average low for October is 38 and the average high 71.

MemberMan guys,
This sounds like fun. I have been working like a dog lately and could use a few days of fishing in new places.
I don’t think I could possibly get away with this short of a notice. I’ve not been on this site, or any other lately, so I haven’t seen any posts about it until yesterday.
Dragging my camper down could be an option. If this trips turns out to be a good place, maybe we can do it again next year.
Have fun, post pictures. I’ll have to go deer hunting at home instead. 😉
Later, P.J.

MemberI finally got through to someone at Smoky Mountain Campground in Bryson City today and I have a spot reserved. Its only about a 1/2 mile outside the park from the NPS Deep Creek campground.
You don’t need to plan on me for any of the meals, I’ll most likely eat with the fam, or pack my own in.
We will be rolling in there Thursday evening, so I’ll have Friday and Saturday pretty much wide open.

MemberZach – I’m sending you a PM regarding a local contact who’d likely be helpful re fishing info in that area.
