My favorite I heard was;
“No really, I’ve had lots of clients break my fly line, happens all the time.” ::)
While he’s rolling his eyes and shaking his head.

My favorite guide pulls this one out from time to time:

Lou: So, let’s say I’m screwing your wife.
Me: Really?
Lou: You come over and say Lou, stop screwing my wife. You’d want me to stop screwing your wife the first time you told me wouldn’t you?
Me: Yes
Lou: Stop casting there
Me: Got it

From the guides perspective I’d offer guiding is the only profession I can think of where you look at your worst when working your hardest and at your best when at doing your least…

Hot Fishing = Easy job
Hard Fishing = You wish you were picking up trash…. ;D

Ha! Those are some pretty good ones guys! I hate to say it but I have used my fair share of those. I love the full moon one! I am going to have to use that one for sure!

And Zach you are spot on with the thoughts that go through a guides head. I would add these ones as well..

30 feet to your right at 2 O’clock…your other right.

guide- “SET SET SET”!!!

Client- “Oh that was just the bottom”.

guide-Riiggghhhttt. That’s why it was moving from side to side.
