MemberZach,
Overall, I like it.Sep 13, 2008 at 12:25 am #29451
Steve K.MemberI like it although I think you should have used the “doobie” photograph on the home page.

The Itinerant AnglerThanks for the feedback, guys.

MemberI think the text and borders is working ok, although the changes others suggested wouldn’t hurt. I am partial to the darker backgrounds, maybe its the designer in me that always likes black and grey, but i do think its a bit easier on the eyes than the white, especially when reading in lower light levels.

MemberPersonally, i like both designs although the new design does seem to be a little cleaner. I don’t really see how you find time to do all this, though. I struggle getting mine decent and it isn’t nowhere near as professional looking.
Writing all that code drives me crazy sometimes.

The Itinerant AnglerEric –
I am going to make an attempt to make the CSS switchable from dark to light for the photoblog.

MemberJust my opinion but, I like the site the way it is now. Change does not necessarily translate to “better”. I think the current site looks “cleaner”, is easier to read and simply more pleasant in appearance.

Mike McKeownMemberZach, it’s all about the quality of the content… and trust me, you’ve got it…
Forget about look and feel…

MemberDittos on Mike’s comments…I am easy…I just love your site…my biggest frustration is being too busy to enjoy…let’s just call it a self inflicted gunshot wound…
Zach – After deep refelction on our Buffalo River trip this May, I agree with you that it sucked…rush hour traffic…I may do it next year earlier in the spring, small group…I am not doing the big trip that time of year…yuck.

MemberI have to agree with Eric, I like the darker backgrounds.

MemberZach, I’ve been a lurker for a long time and rarely (read almost never) post here. I do like the looks of the site. The only change I would make is a smaller pic of you and a larger pic of Lauren.

The Itinerant AnglerRolling out the changes.

MemberZack, It Looks great. Don’t let them sway you on changing your site. I understand, my site has changed twice since I launched a month ago and it is finally settling in and now I am just tightening up the css and typography. (not a fun task). I like the clean brightness.
The only thing I see is really nitpicky and in the sidebar. The space between the headers and the links seems to be to much or equal top and bottom. It can be hard to determine what goes with what. Extra space before and a little less after would fix it.

The Itinerant AnglerThat’s a good tip, Kevin.
