At age 10, while visiting my grandparents in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I shyly inquired of a gentleman what he was doing while he was waving fishing line back and forth. He set up my 6' 6" Shakespeare Wonderod of spun fiberglass with a clear bobber and a fly he called "Preacher" - he was a Lutheran Minister. I recall thinking that fly was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. Seeing a trout rise to take the Preacher introduced me to where my new parish would be. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, Alan Fletcher, Michael Beirut, E.F. Payne, Paul H. Young, Gary H. Howells, Tom Dorsey, Tom Maxwell, Olan Flannigan and Archie Boston have influenced me. And a Lutheran Minister who's name I can not recall.
