Memberi think number 2 is great. Maybe a bit less space around the fly would be nicer.

MemberHi i’ve got a D60 and can say it’s a very good camera it its price segment. I’m using the kit lenses 18-55 vr and 55-200 vr aswell as some old lenses my father in law gave to me.
All Nikon lenses (only a few exeptions like specials etc) from i think ’78 will fit modern Nikons. Don’t expect them all to AF because the D60 needs AF-s lenses. Also metering and apeture often don’t work but still you can do all this manualy and get great pictures.
About the VR that would only be good below 300 mm. I never heard off it. I’m looking for a Sigma 150-500 myself and never read or heard about any problems in the stabilisation system.
The only “problem” with the D60 is the auto dim function off the display. You can set it to auto dim when you put youre face against the camera. When this is on the display flickers on and off in bright sunlight. There is an update for this problem but you can also shut off the auto dim, that what i did.

MemberHi Keith largest possible is 650 X 650 pixels. This is the size Zach prefers to use on the board and wich will give the best result.
For what i can see now it looks better, you an also try a more frontal view. This will make the width of youre fly a bit smaller.

MemberI like the first one the best. With this one i’d choose a bit lower position for the camera en align the fly more level hookshaft. Make sure al of the fly is in the picture, like the fiber and rubberleg ends.
If you do this could you post the largest pic possible?

MemberAnd the lighter tripod that comes near the quality off this one is a carbon tripod wich is costing a lot more.

MemberAs long as the hdd didn’t fall the chance of really destroyed data is not that big. A defect cirquit can always be replaced.

MemberI use a 1T windows home server as a backup now but i’m also keeping an eye out for a portable storage tank (with touch screen). The portable would be perfect for week(end) trips so i’ll keep watching this thread.

MemberI’ve been to Cancun two years ago but did not feel unsafe at any time. The resort owner did tell us to avoid a sertain neighborhood and so we did.
It seems the bad experiences all involve some degree of partying ( wich i like too, but….). So if you stay away from those places and Tijuana you should be safer.

MemberOk, I actually recognized the baboons, which immediately brought to mind an article I read some time ago about how a baboon attacks a human. Â If I remember right, the gist of it was that this nearly man-sized creature, with strength greater than the strongest NFL linebacker, simply latches on somewhere around the shoulders and then attempts to tear the human victim’s face off with its enormous, dog-like incisors. Â I recall the same article saying that baboons hunt in troops and that some troops are peaceful and specialize in vegetation and small game, while other troops are warlike and attack bigger animals like, oh, people.
Any truth to that? Â If so, will these stay tame as they grow?
Zach
hahahaha that really brings the ..aaaaahhhh…..that’s nice… moment to an end :). Intresting question though.

MemberEric the lights i use are normal desk lamps but with 5600K lights put into it.
In this case i tried to light the background a bit more with my flash. (did not get the desired effect by the way). For remote i use a SC-29 kabel for TTL and i have a DX-80 set to SU-4 mode and that is then triggerd wireless. Still trying for the right settings but getting there.
The lightbox is to diffuse the light. But you can also go without i recently did shoot a series of flies (80 different flies) for a webshop with just the 3 desklamps and got a fine result.
