Notice in the above pics that he only has about 4 or 5 feet of line and a 9ft leader out but the rod is fully loading. Actually the rod loads itself. It is a very slow action rod but it makes short casts easy as it gives you plenty of time to adjust your cast and it lands like a feather on the water. It is only good for about 30 feet max. A great brookie rod.

This is my 8 year old son casting a leonerd baby katskill 7ft 2wt copy i made. He is trying to cast up under the edge of the brush to some bluegills. Even a 4 inch gill on this little rod is a good fight.
