MemberI am ok with paying a premium price for good glass, but does anyone else think that $2200 is too much for a Nikon prime lens? I was quite surprised to see the 24mm 1.4 at this price level. Maybe I’m just cheap.

MemberI second the Black Rapid. I have one, and it is a lot more comfortable than a standard strap. You can set it up so the camera and lens line up in the small of your back, protected and out of the way when not shooting. All you have to do is grab the camera and slide it up to your eye. Well worth the money.

MemberDid you try one of these places? They are both Nikon Authorized Repair Stations near you. You may already know that though.

MemberZach,
What is the difference between “one of those GPS rigged cameras” and being able to record GPS data with your D200?

MemberI have a D70 and it doesn’t fit in the camera bag. When I’m on the water I use the Simms Dry Creek Roll top lumbar pack. I have also attached the Roll-Top Camera Bag to the belt of the lumbar pack. I carry my camera and attached lens in the lumbar pack and use the camera bag to carry a polarizing filter, lens cloth and other accesories. You can fit an extra prime lens in the camera bag, but most zoom lenses are even a tight squeeze in it.
Originally I was going to buy the Ortlieb Aqua Zoom http://www.ortlieb.com/_prod.php?lang=en&produkt=aquazoom. I wasn’t able to find it at the time I bought the Simms though.
