    Hi Mike,

Thanks for your feedback. I share your affection for the G2. What would you attribute your change in taste to? Progression of personal preference? Was it driven by enjoyment alone or by the type of fishing you enjoy?

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like the 5, 6 and 7 weights referenced serve as specific set ups for given sink tips and the 4 weight is sort of your general purpose floating line choice. Would you call the action on your 4 weight fast, medium-fast, etc.? Do you prefer quicker action or more deep loading for floating line work? Thanks Mike.

    Hi Zach,

I’ve been fortunate enough to spend some time with both the 905 and 904. I echo much of your sentiment. I much prefer the new grip over the standard “Trout Western” and find the rod head and shoulders above the S4. Working for a fly shop I get the opportunity to cast and/or fish a wide variety of gear. I’ve found the Radian to be very light in hand, equipped with plenty of power and simultaneously capable of delicacy. As a lover of the G2 I do at times long for a faster stick, especially in windy conditions. The first time out with the Radian I spent time nymphing, throwing small dries close in and throwing hoppers up to 50-60 feet in 10-15 mph winds. The rod handled everything with ease.

My heart isn’t ready to admit any G2 obsolescence, but I imagine I’ll reach for the Radian a bit more frequently.

    Jason
