David, we’ll be going to Arkansas later this month. Truthfully, I don’t know if I will fish a lick. I wil be travelling with my wife, daughter (3yrs), son (9mos) and the family Airedale. If you have know of any cool places to go, definitely hook me up with the info. I think we will go to Crater of Diamonds, Little Rock, and that’s as far as my agenda goes. Actually, I want to swing by LA for a little salt trip…any locals? I just can’t wait to get outta here.
On a side note, can anyone enlighten me: How do you resize a picture?

Danny: My knowledge of Arkansas doesn’t extent south of Mountain View, perhaps someone else can help you on things to do in the Little Rock area. I do know the Little Red is reasonably close to Little Rock. As for resizing photos, I use iphoto on my macbook, can’t help you if you have a pc. Again, hopefully someone else will jump in, I would love to see your rig.
Dannyo, you mentioned you’re gearing up for a Arkansas trip soon. Any chance of being in the Bull Shoals area? I fished near Calicio Rock last week, the water was down and the fishing was great!
Dannyo, I am looking for a 23 or 25ft Safari, with a couch and twin beds. Not in a hurry, willing to wait to find exactly what I want. I hear you about the hail damage and expense of repair, definitely a downside to Airstreams. Because of local restrictions on parking a RV in the driveway, I will be storing the trailer in one of the storage caves we have here in the Kansas City area. Climate and humidity controlled, plus reduces my chances of hail damage.
That TU trailer might be the best thing ever for Airstream. Seems it has quite a few people thinking about them. If only they weren’t so expensive or I had the time to fix one up…
I had a severe case of sticker shock when I started looking at new Airstreams. Then I started finding used trailers on the market at more reasonable prices. It seems that they take a big depreciation for the first few years, then after 4-5 years they start holding their value. As I mentioned, I see the Airstream as a poor man’s cabin, but unlike owning a cabin, it gives you freedom to visit some great fishing spots. If anyone out there has used a trailer to take fishing road trips, I would be interested in hearing about your experiences.
Now you’re making me envious! Please update me on your trip and how the trailer performs. And the fishing of course.
it looks like a 20′ Safari. All Airstreams larger than 22′ have double axles. I believe starting with the 2009 model year the Safari’s are now called Flying Clouds. A great web site is http://www.airforums.com. I am looking for a 23 or 25 ft Safari, need to make it comfortable enough for my wife to sign on to the deal. The 20ft is great for 1 or 2. Will you be taking it on fishing trips, if so, what part of the country?
