Anyone using a Four Third camera for video?

I want to upgrade my current dinky toy pocket videocam.

Capturing video for fly fishing encounters some issues:
High frame rate needed to capture the fast moving background (river/stream pixelation)
Depth-of-field to capture a more interesting footage
    Small enough to carry
    Long battery life
    Affordable

I think I need one that is able to capture fullHD 1080p in 50/60 fps.
So far only the Sony Nex-5N seems to be the option, but my guess is that the Panasonic Four Thirds are more acclaimed. I see the Panasonic DMC-G3 as an option but it only has 720p at full 50/60 fps.

Wait, are you looking for 4/3 or micro 4/3?

Conceptually I really like the 4/3 standard, but unless I missed some big news you are asking for something that doesn’t exist and probably won’t in the near future. I think the 4/3rds camera makers got blindsided by the whole DSLR video thing the 4/3 makers don’t seem to have put as much into sensor R&D as other companies have.

    Yes sorry the micro 4/3

You should check out the reviews on various photography sites and videos on Vimeo and YouTube. The video capabilities of the micro 4/3 cameras (including the Sony NEX series although these are Sony’s propriety lenses) these days are amazing.

Not from personal experience,  but I know that the Panasonic DMC GH2 is considered about the best there is for video and can be enhanced further with a hack firmware upgrade. If you go to Midcurrent and look up Surf and Inshore 2011 video by Peter Laurelli you will see what can be done with this camera.
