Standing around with a couple of very good friends and who should walk through the door but
the Head Honcho himself resplendant in an Itinerant Angler tshirt.
Wish I’d thought to grab a pic.

Then he started telling tales of the fishing 27″ brown lost yesterday.

They were going night fishing last night _ no update this morning yet.

    Cheers

We didn’t end up night fishing; too many rough experiences on Rim with the wind getting up to continue the beating.

    Just grab the fish.

One of the funniest experiences I have ever had was watching two people try to net a large fish in a small net. They had many opportuinties to just grab the fish, but insisted on putting it in the net. After about five minutes of trying the fish finally broke off and hopefully was able to swim away. Would have been much better for the fish if they would have just tailed the fish, revived it and let it go. About ten minutes latter I landed and released a similar sized fish and released it all in about a minute. Then one of the guys had to come down and tell me how easy I made it look, and if I had any pointers. I had to tell them not to force the net just land the fish and let it go.

    ;D ;D ;D
A certified gear junkie with a baby net???

That’s never a good moment, realising your totally outgunned.

Actually your not the only one, my current net is big just not big enough.

I’d like to go to rubber, but in the serious sizes they are just way to slow in the water.
Im pondering, perhaps an article Zach?

Steve…have you looked at the Ghost nets from Brodin Landing Nets?

Yeh I have, Ive played with quite a few.
The thing Ive found with rubber v mesh over the last few years is rubber has way way way more drag, if you are trying to net hot fish fast, particularly in fast water.

Might be fine if you wear them down fast, but I want to net them asap. Fast hands fast net 😉

    Cheers
