As I stated in an earlier thread, I am new to the site.

    Tom –

Check out the Toccoa, or Duke’s Creek, or if you want a backcountry experience, the Noontootla.

    Hey Tom –

If you are willing to make the drive, the Davidson is your best bang for the buck.

Tom…the Davidson River can be really good as far as size of fish but I’ve gotten several emails though that the water levels are extremely low and the water temps are up.  Davidson River Outfitters is advising those that have to go trout fishing…to be off the water by 10:00 a.m.

If you want to go for smallmouth I’ve heard that the French Broad is really stellar right now.

Bring your can of Pledge if you fish the Davidson – water levels are so low the fish are dusty (locals’ saying, not mine).

I called Davidson River Outfitters, they said the water was still up from the last rain, but by Sunday would be back down again.
