Wet Wading Sandals

I am thinking about getting a pair of sandals to use while wet wading. I am looking at the either the Simms Pursuit Sandal or the Patagonia Izaak Sandal. Anyone have any experience with either of these?

If I remember correctly the Simms Sandals are made by Keen.

I like the Merrell shoes but they can get stinky and don’t dry as fast as some.

How about a Teva?

I love these sandals. Haven’t used them as ‘wading sandals’ yet but I think they are great for rock hopping style of fishing rather than full wading experience.

I’ve comfortably wet waded on numerous occasions in my Chacos.  Minimal dry time, minimal slippage (in the river and in the strap system), super comfortable, and great for hikes in and out.

I second the Chacos…

They offer a lot of support for the amount of time it take them to dry. In my experience they do well on slippery surfaces as well.

The one downside is the exposure your toes face… there is a risk of banging them on rocks and such. However, the exposure allows you to get uncomfortable gravel out from beneath your foot without having to take them off.

Chaco Z2’s with Diamond Stealth rubber (or whatever they’re calling the sticky rubber sole now)… greatest footwear on the planet. All I wear for about 5 months a year. Definitely 2 thumbs up!

I’ve used Keen H2’s a number of times fishing streams and also have used them on hard bottom, saltwater flats.
