Welcoming a new fly fisherwoman to the house

The youngest of my two daughters seems to have the most interest in fly fishing. During the 2012 version of our annual Kids & Dads camping and fishing trip, she achieved great success with her unassisted catching of a trout.
Here is a picture of her posing like the Hardy girl:
Here she is rockin’ her roll cast:
And here she is posing with her first trout on a fly rod:
She was fishing by herself (I was off making dinner for the group), made her own cast, set the hook and brought the fish to a nearby friend’s net.
A few moments earlier, she had landed her first-ever unassisted fish on a fly rod, also a thing of pride:
Now she wants her own bamboo rod.
Nice job Aaron! Your post brought a smile to my face. If you’ll allow…..here’s my youngest and his first solo trout about 12 years ago:
…and here he is this past summer with 11 of his closest Jarhead friends in A-stan. I say all that to say this…cherish them while they are young…they do grow up fast!
