Is this common? I wear Cabela’s Dry Plus waders. They are a far cry from Simms, but are rugged in that despite some falls and more than a few walks through brambles I’ve never had any puncture or abrasion problems with them. However, I put them away last fall after a fishing trip, but instead of hanging them (as I usually do) I left them in their mesh storage bag. On the next trip I ended up with some serious leaks around my knees. I finished the trip, took the waders home, filled them with water, and was surprised to find that the leaks weren’t from tears or punctures, but from fabric crease weaknesses where they had been stored in the bag. I bring it up because my brother has recently had the same problem, but with a different brand of waders.
Has this happened to any of you? Is it common knowledge that this is prone to happen if waders are stored folded rather than hung–I can’t recall ever reading wader care instructions to know.
