MemberThere is a very cool video feature in the Remote & Remarkable segment of Catch 5. Its a canoe float in a remote canyon. Great underwater photography as well as some beautiful western scenery, and of course fish are caught.

MemberI agree. The video captures some great underwater footage/shots of nymphs. One of the best short films I have seen in awhile. Each issue of the magazine keeps upping the ante. It is excellent and I look forward to future issues.

noneMemberGreat picture-book.
I would have liked a bit more explanation of where they are fishing, what equipment they are using, which settings they use, etc.May 2, 2009 at 6:56 pm #35675bill heffner

Tim AngeliMemberI agree that its a great video, but I somewhat disagree about getting more information. I really liked the video as is, and as much as I would love to know where they were fishing so I could go there myself, I think the lack of information actually adds to the video. I also think it portrays a message of getting out there and finding your own place like that…off the beaten path, unpopulated, gorgeous scenery, and great fishing.
As for the location, one of the fish it shows is a bull trout. From the information I’ve seen they are only found in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and a tiny spot in Nevada. Chasing down some bull trout is definitely on my fishing bucket list; they look like really cool fish and will absolutely demolish streamers. I definitely agree that it’s a really good video clip. Looks like an amazing place.

I agree with Tim 100% on this one. I think the mystery of not knowing where they are adds to the film. It all so adds to your day dreams for that matter.
It could be in Canada too Tim. Lots of Bull Trout north of the boarder.

noneMemberI wasn’t talking specifically about the video, but about the pictures used in the magazine.
The videos are fine as they come. Just short clips of a certain situation that’s worth a view.

MemberI agree … Beautiful video. The underwater shots of the nymphs were fantastic. The high desert scenery looked like it could be Oregon to me.
