    Thinking about a trip down to Venice and I was curious if there was a better time to fish it. I know it is awesome year round just curious how much the spring floods impact it or other factors.

    Clay I’ve fished the section of marsh near Grand Island in March and the fishing was very good for slot redfish in the 7-9 lb. range. No big bruisers but plenty of fun on the fly rod.

    All of the fish we caught were extremely shallow, in like less than two feet of water in most cases.

    Are you talking about Venice FL or Venice LA

    Bob,

    Venice, LA.

    I thought I remembered if the River was high fishing wasn’t as good cause it pushes more muddy water into the marshes. So fall was much better for the Reds even though year round is great.
