I’ve found some recipes for this fly but I’d love a step by step, video or other pics if anyone has them.

Looks allot like a Dalhberg Diver but the deer hair is stacked, not spun to get the color separation. But that probably doesnt matter all that

The DVD Tying Hair Bugs with Chris Helm goes through the process of tying the Tantalizer.

The Tantalizer (or a nice deer hair diver)  is a wonderfully looking deer hair bug but a lot of work: stacking and shaping the head.
You sure are looking ahead of lot of mess in the room!  ;D

I just finished a half a dozen Blue Sardines for a friend of mine. Great fun, it’s nothing like the Tantalizer in terms of detailing, but man a lot of work!

It’s a deal mate.  Head to NZ and I’d be happy to show you around the places I’ve found so far.

Seriously though, those flies look like they might just be the ticket to get me tight to a kingfish next season.  I’m going to have to whip a few up.  Is the body just EP fibers?

    Hi Tim,

    here’s the recipe:
    http://www.danica.com/flytier/jlee/blue_sardine.htm

This time I used white EP Fibers for the bottom rather than islandic sheep.
I prefer to mix synthetic and natural hair. Just like to think that the whole moves a lot more natural. 🙂

If you need help, let me know.

Do you like those circle hooks? I’ve had less than satisfactory success with them.
