I’m headed to Savannah to do a big document review in one of our monster cases tomorrow night, but we’re planning to sneak out this weekend to do some tripletail fishing off the Georgia coast.

Tripletail can be found all along the Gulf coast as well as the Atlantic side up to the Carolinas.

    Hey Bob –

Got any recommendations on a specific shrimp pattern to pick up?

There is a #4 size epoxy shrimp that I have used w/ success. Think it is as a Popovic’s pattern in some catalogs. Good luck.

A clouser will usually work. If they are there they are normally as apt to eat as a big blue gill. But then again I am no expert and I am sure they have their moods like any other fish.

I use ultra shimp mostly because they are very durable, but any shrimp pattern will work, even lightly weighted kwans.  Usually #2 or #4 hooks.

a merkin crab the size of a half dollar or a little better tied with a tan yarn, picked out, dabbed with some flex cement, and colored up with a marker catches just about anything in the salt…

We got into them today guys, but it took until the wind really got up for us to figure it out and we quickly got blown off the flat.
