Well – I know it’s not fishing related, but seeing this guy on my saltwater swimming pool yesterday, I had to shoot him, and the shots of his body-weight creating indentations on the water surface are just too cool not to share.

Included are the shots of him on the hose that runs to the polaris – he’d “walked” across the water onto it – and when he got there, he actually circled it a few times, going underwater each time. I “shook” him off by submerging the hose (I wanted more shots) and what happened next surprised me; he rode the hose almost 2 feet down, and then released it, riding a bubble he’d trapped below his body back up to the surface.

Now – I don’t like spidies all that much – used to hate ’em in fact, but this guy was so cool I forgot all about the phobia.

Anyway – shot with a cheap (relatively) Sigma 100 – 300 in macro mode.

Those closeups with the water dimples are wild.
