Hi-

Any of you guys use these reels?  I've been looking for a reel to pair up with my new Steffen fiberglass rod and I really like the looks of these reels but don't have a dealer near me so I'm going to have to gather opinions and go from there.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have a couple of them and love them. Smooth drag and have never had any issues with them.

I have 2 salt water Tibor Lights and they are great.

I own two, a little one and a big one.

I have 4 Tibor Lights and the tippet protection(startup inertia), big fish or small is perfect, even though mine are the older non CL type.
I have fished them from 8wt in the Everglades on some decent sized Snook and Tarpon to down 3wt.
I don’t think I’d ever use anything else…

I have fished them and the only draw back is the drag knob sticking out the back. I have had line get wrapped around it or lodged between the knob and the reel. Nothing major, just a minor inconvenience.

Yes – Rob, agreed.

I love my Tibor Light CL on fiberglass!

I have three of the earlier, Spring Creek (non CL) versions in gold and use them primarily on my shorter bamboo rods.

I'm glad to hear such wonderful things about these reels because I just picked up a Spring Creek CL and a Tail Water CL on eBay at a heck of a discount.  Found a store that is liquidating their smaller sized Tibor reels 🙂

I love that picture – Tibor-delic![/font:f8813rbz]

Saw two of them sitting on the counter at BP the last time I was there – last week. Closeout at 219. I assume that is a good price.
