Is knowing that even though it is an amazing camera there is a Mark IV

These are my first try with the camera (poor lighting, 800 iso) and I still have alot to learn about setting it up, mostly the AF system. But it’s been very intuitive so far. Did I mention it’s like shooting an Uzi!

Thanks guys I’m just playing around trying to get to know the Mark II. Something I’ve learned is that each camera model seems to have it’s own unique personality. Getting in synch with it can be a challenge but a fun one. Lately it has become an obsession.

    Few more.

Really digging the bird silo image from below Mike!

Mike, your birds are looking awesome lately. what are you shooting?

I guess the upside to the 1D II vs 1DIV is that it leaves lots of room in the budget for good glass.

Have you tried any UWAs with it? I wonder how the 1.3 sensor does with the 10-22

Adam the 10-22 won’t work with it.

In the Canon line up compatible with the 1D theres.
    17-40 f4 L
    16-35 f2.8 L
    14m fisheye ( beleive its f2.8)

I have been considering one of the 3 for times when Im in a boat and cant back up further. You gain quite a bit in the frame relatively speaking.

    However.
The fish eye wont accept filters, which imo are an absolute must both for fishing photogrpahy ( Circ Pols) and Landscape ( NDs, Cir Pols and such).

The 16-35 has a wierd configuation that requires 82mm filters, which means duplicating some filters given most lenses are 77mm.

Add in the cost of give or take $2,000.00 for the 16-35 or the fisheye and one must consider buying a 5Dii alternatively to a uwa.

    Thanks Everyone. Adam I’m using a 400 5.6 or the 70-200 f4 IS. The 70-200 f4 is macro sharp.

John I found a bargain at a big box store on the 17-40 F4 L and I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoy that lens. I rarely mount the 24-105 L
