The Itinerant AnglerHey guys –
I have a pretty good idea of how popular The Itinerant Angler Podcast is. For instance, April Vokey’s show was posted on Monday night, less than 48 hours ago, and it has already been downloaded a little less than 1,000 times. So, clearly several of you have your iTunes set to update each time there’s a new show.
Generally, most shows seem to get between 3,000 and 4,000 listeners from my servers. Rachel Finn’s show from January 20 has been downloaded 3,508 times so far. Really popular podcasts like Lefty Kreh’s will have upwards of 10,000 listens over the two or three years they’ve been out. Plus, I can’t track listeners over my affiliates’ servers (like MidCurrent).
But, since I rarely, if ever, see any of the content from the podcast discussed here on the board, I have to admit I’m curious about how many of you BOARD members actually listen to the podcast. Really, the same thing applies to the Photoblog and the Articles/Blog section; I know some of you use the whole site, while others have areas of interest. I suspect some of you have never really left this bulletin board to browse what else is here (if you haven’t, I encourage you to do so).
Thanks,

The Itinerant AnglerI should have added another selection, but if you’re having trouble downloading the podcast due to technical issues, let me know and we’ll try to work them out.

Joel ThompsonMemberI enjoy the podcasts too. Some more than others. The hardest part for me is finding time. I also kind of forget about it until I get on Itunes which isn’t very often. :-/

MemberI really look forward to the podcast. One thing that kinda hit me last night was that all most, if not all of the guest that you have interviewed seem really passionate about fly fishing. It’s easy to listen to passionate people talk about what they are passionate about. I like to listen to the podcast when I am on a road trip to the river. Thanks for the solid work..

MemberI dig the podcasts Zach. I do tend to wait until there are several for me to download before doing so. This way I get to listen over a few days rather than listen and then jones for the next one so much. 🙂

I listen to every podcast. I listen to quite a few different podcasts, and your is among the best-produced I download.

The Itinerant AnglerChris that is an RSS feed. The iTunes store reads it off that file but it has special tags; the core RSS feed is still there. That feed validates in an RSS tester.

Any update regarding to when the next podcast will be out?

MemberZach, as is often the case, we can take people and services for granted.
I like the way the interviews are conducted, and the range of people
that are covered. I sometimes smile as views that are expressed
reflect what I have been thinking, but couldn’t put it into words. Often the views
are challenging to me – which is a great thing – it makes me think.I like the lack of boasting and BS that usually goes hand in hand with
fish talk. So thanks for the service, keep it happening. The photo section is great, as it gives me ideas for my own photos
so now I take less piccies of my thumb.Andrew
