The Dixie Fly is Finished!

I posted a few months back about my gheenoe restore project. I added the final piece this week when I picked a nice 1968 Johnson 9.5. It is in fantastic shape and I got a good deal on it. Modifications include building a front casting deck, rod tubes, stripped off old paint and repainted in a custom camouflage pattern. I also built my own Jackplate, from an old pressure washer frame. Now if it would cool off a little!

I am out in it most every weekend. Mostly on the carp flats, but I take it to the upper hooch some and I hit up quite a few lakes for bass as well. I also had it in SC a few weeks ago chasing reds. It has been a great boat.

$450 for a Gheenoe and trailer is a great price for one in usable condition.  They made several different models other then the 15’4″ highsider like Mickey’s.  Anyone of which would be a deal at that price.  Being made out of fiberglass, slightly damaged ones can be repaired fairly easily.  Even without prior fiberglass experience, a little patience and internet research can provide you with all the info needed.
