Even though we can fish year around in our part of the country, some times during the year the fishing slows down for typical species like bass, specks, and reds. So when that happens I like to look for other species to chase after. This is one of my favorites to chase.

The Chain Pickerel or Southern/Grass Pike and also known as jack fish by old timers.

I did a full write up on my site about fishing for these guys during a series of three trips this Feb. I am posting some of the picts from the trip and I hope some of you guys will even stop in and give it a read.

Great photo essay Jennifer/Peter. The pics tell the story without writing a word. I especially like the grill photo…next to last in the series. Nice.

I’m glad you guys enjoyed it. Jennifer took I beleive about 257 photos on that trip alone. So to kind of let her photography tell the story I’m going to do a slide show on vimeo pretty soon. I will be sure to post the link.

I should be able to post up an new set of essays and articles this week as well. I’ll post up when i get it done and hopefully some of y’all will also enjoy that one as well.
