I may be the only person who still watches survivor…Does anyone else think the water around Samoa look like an incredible place to wet a line?

My wife is a slave to the show, even goes to “Survivor Parties.” That’s exactly what they need: two Texans w/ fly rods in hand. We would certainly be the last two. Ever notice the absence of a solid outdoorsman on those outdoor “reality” shows?

You are not the only one who still watches the show. I am addicted to Survivor. During tonight’s episode I found myself wondering about the fishing in Samoa. I am sick. I can’t watch anything without relating it back to the fly somehow.

Not exactly sure what it means, but the first 3 to post on this thread are all from Texas.

I have always thought we needed to have a TX gathering, especially since most of us are from the Metro. Hopefully the Austin, Houston, and other reps. could make it.

Maybe we could all meet and float Los Brazos de Dios or meet on the Guad.

I am up for anything, I watch the show usually while tying flies and it crossed my mind as well about the fishery in the area.

I was hoping you would reply, Cole. Maybe we should start a TX thread, but I might be hitting the Brazos on Sunday. Maybe someone could bring a laptop with downloaded episodes of Survivor for Grant!

I’ve never fished the Guadalupe. I was in Boerne on Saturday and drove down to the Guadalupe state park to check out the river while my wife was at a baby shower (I neglected to pack my rod for the trip….mistake). I can’t wait to get back down there to wet a line..

Before I moved to the desert I fished the Brazos almost once a week. It is one of my favorite places to fish when it is

    Grant,

Next time you are in the area, you should check out the Guadalupe tailwater below Canyon Dam for rainbows.

    Absolutely need a Texas thread.

    Sounds like Louie The Fish!

Make it at Billy Bobs and I might fly up for the gathering

Billy Bob’s can be a rough place at times. It has been years since I have been there, but the last time I was there a cop got shot in the parking lot. Aside from that though, it is an amazing place. If you make it over here Clark, I will be more than happy to take you!

The Pink Fin bite is usually pretty hard around midnight after any terrible country show at Billy Bobs.

    Clark,
How do you know Louie the Fish?
That is pretty funny that you know him, he is quite a character and told me some CRAZY arse stories!!

Louie has been in touch with me as well.  He’s hooked up with the local Trout Unlimited group in Hawaii and is selling their t-shirts to anyone he can.  I’ve seen some worn by our chapter members at the Guadalupe River TU meetings.

If you are going to fish the Guad for rainbows, now is the time.
