It would be nice if Costa still made yellow polarized lenses. I met some guides from Mass. that only wear the Smith yellow ones. Made me wish I had a high quality pair of yellow lenses.

Looking forward to seeing what Flip Pallot’s line of Costas will look like. I almost got a pair of Chesney’s .

Just a follow up, if you check out cabelas, (i’m sure there are other smaller mom and pop shops that carry costas as well) you can get the yellow (amber) lenses in just about every model they have.

I would have to say Oakley for sure. I also have had Costas and Action optics. But when I compared them on my last trip… wow Oakley was the best of the best.

It’s always tough to pick out a pair of sunglasses in a shop, where you can’t see how they actually perform streamside.

If you go Costa, spring for the glass 580 lenses.  They are the most expensive they make but also the most resistant to damage and easily the clearest optically.  I am a big fan of the 580 glass silver mirrors (which are actually more of a pinkish amber in color and not all that mirrored from the front).  I think they are the best all around lens on the market, and I have fished in dozens and dozens of pairs of shades.

I’m three deep in glass-lens Costas.

I vote for the costa 580 glass! I have had mine for a year, or so, and they make a ton of difference on the water.
    non prescription for me

Yes, Smiths run around $320, always loved Smiths but their frame choice sucks in prescription. Think only offer 3
