Stumbled on this show a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the first one I saw.

You should read American Buffalo, Tim, or listen to the podcast.

Yes, that book is on my list to get to. Looking forward to it.

I discussed this book wtih a good friend that lives in Alaska. No question Rinella is a legitimate sportsman, I believe I clarified that in my last post, but from what I understand, Alaska is filled with every day guys who have done and still do what Rinella describes simply as a way of life…just without writing a book on it.

Not sure I listened to that podcast.

    Tim –

He is incredibly straight up about that in the book, and it is one of the things he says he admires about Alaskans.

His trip to Hawaii was pretty cool…………I got invited to go on a traditional hog hunt. After watching that, I really really want to go.

The one filmed in San Fran was sofa king funny…………I loved the road kill and the fisherman that landed a bicycle.

Don’t overlook his other book: “Scavenger’s Guide to Haute Cuisine.” It’s solid as well.

    Zach,

I listened to that podcast when you did it and thought it was great.

I loved the episode from the amazon for the simple fact that he made a very bad decision about taking a shot and lost the animal and then very clearly criticized his lack of thought before taking the shot.
The show is well done and really portrays the cultural side of hunting and the traditions of the locations he is hunting.
