    Huh?  A 22-inch, 9 pound bass?  It would have to be thicker in girth than its length.  Big bass are fat, but they’re usually not that fat.

    The last 22″ largemouth I caught weighed around 6 lbs.

    I believe when it hit 9# it was pregnant and full of eggs, and that when it had been caught on two other occasions it was 7.5# and around 8# (this was at different times of the year in one specific year – as I recall it was 7.5# the 9# then 8# (so I misspoke there)).
