MemberOn a whim we decided thursday night that we would set out to PA saturday since my friend pat got the weekend off. We started out saturday morning to little sandy, mostly because it’s comforting to go to a stream you know well. However, it let us down. Only 1 fish was caught by Pat.

MemberMark- Thank you, haven’t had the B&T in some time, not since leaving PA in ’05!
Eric- Sending a PM. As for Pithole, yeah we were at eagle rock rd. bridge. I had my gazetteer and it looked like the easiest access considering the snow. Checking google earth shows a couple more places I definitely want to get back and check out. Never fished Pithole, and was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful creek

MemberIt definitely looks fishy. Lots of nice riffles and pools. Seems like a fairly steep gradient too. Also, doesn’t look like it gets a lot of attention. Could be wrong though.

MemberYou guys are taking me on walk down memory lane. Where Pithole dumps into the main river can be thrilling if you time it right – monster bronze backs with a shots at a big river resident brown. Oh boy…

We discussed this very thing on our drive down 62 following the allegheny. Might have to make that happen this year

MemberSupposedly rain in the forecast here, just what we need! Sandy was a little low too last we were there. May be in good shape if rain holds off in that area. Let me know how you do

MemberSame here; it switched over to freezing rain about 10:30 pm, then to snow shortly after. All is way high and raging (again). You heading to state college then next weekend or staying close to home?
Mar 6, 2011 at 11:46 pm #47389
Eric WellerMemberWell my plan was to fish close to home.

MemberIf you go to Neshannock, give shoot me a message. Maybe I could meet you out there. Haven’t fished it in probably 10 years! Depends on the work schedule, and of course the weather like you said.

MemberTurns out I’m working Friday now. Not sure of sunday, good luck wherever you get out to. Most Ohio tribs are out of the question. Not sure of PA’s, but Conneaut was the only one showing signs of promise and it’s up a little with this bout of rain which could mean PA might fish by the weekend, assuming no more rainfall! Keep me posted, i’ll throw the 8wt. in the truck, i’ll be in Canton most of the weekend, but may be able to sneak out sunday. Either way, good luck to you

MemberAaron,
Now they are calling for 6-8 inches of snow to fall Friday night. This is getting old.
EricThat’s about the same for here as well. Oh well. What’s another week…though I am getting severe stream separation anxiety i think.
