Worked with a wounded warrior outing last May that had just gotten back from that float and they pretty much summed it up this way
“trip of an {expletive} lifetime. The only downside was they were there early and the second morning woke up to 12” of fresh snow on their camp. Beyond that they got to do a little of every thing in terms of techniques from slinging big meaties to fine and far dry fly action.

The group ranged from absolute rank beginners to guys who have fished all over the world and they all were well satified with the level of difficulty they faced in terms of fishing conditions.

It is definatly on my “bucket list” !

So you guys have to like win a ballot to float a river, and book your camp spots? Sounds insane.

All going well, I’ll be floating this for a couple of days, next weekend. It’s a trip I try and do at least once a year, but I never get sick of it. 🙂

For that float, yes. Like the Grand Canyon, some places are so special they need to be managed……….Smith included.
