Took Hudson out for his first look at Brook trout today. Fish were pint size, like him, but made for an enjoyable day on the water. Headed to a Rim lake with small stream running out below a spillway, we had a hike ahead of us, atleast everyone, but Hudson.
I thought about taking some food or eating shots, I’m really liking that in the reports I’ve been reading from everyon here. Decided against it, figured you have all seen a Taco Bell before.

my son fooled his first Brook trout with a Wulff.
We caught many fish today, all parties included. The fish and fisherman may be tiny, but the memories made today we’re as large as anything we know. If you’re ever down in Arizona and want to catch some little Brookies – give us a call, Hudson can show you.
Looks like perfect day to me, Aaron. I love brookies. I spent most of June and July chasing brookies smaller than that one. Like the pic of your boy in the pack holding the rod on the creek bank. Nice brown too.

Cameron – I agree, trying to teach the kid to fish, in both the physical and proverbial sense fo the word.

Those are fantastic and your boy looks like a natural. You must be one proud dad! Thanks for sharing. I keep saying that I cant wait til my boy is old enough to get out there with me, but based on your pics I’m sure he’s pretty close!

Aaron, I know that location well. I trained in Scottsdale and used to hike that location with my girlfriend at the time. I actually have some pictures of that same water, cool. Thanks for posting. However, your pictures are much better than mine, I love your style and somehow I find that your pictures have a certain tint or color or something that I find old-school and very relaxing.
