Cameron’s post about boots got me thinking about a wader question that I have had.

I know they changed the Freestone line for 2009, but is the imported thing new to this line this year?

Mike B….I’d stick to the Bozeman made models…but I know that you’re kind of a penny pinching miser so the imported model might win out.

Could not agree more Cam. Mike stick with the real deal. Try some on and let me know what you want and I will make you a deal on a pair.

Thanks for feedback, and thanks Joel, I get with you when I’m ready to order.

I’ll stick with the Gore-Tex Bozeman made, no sense changing what has worked for 8 years.

    Mike,

Zach did a really good podcast with K.C. Walsh of Simms.  He gets into a fair amount of information about Gore-Tex vs. Competitors if I remember correctly.  It has been quite a while since I listened to it, but I think that might give you the information you want.  After listening to that I decided that from now on I’m going with Gore-Tex and only Gore-Tex.

    Good luck!

My wife has had the Freestones for several years. They have held up well. I have the Simms lightweights and they’ve held up really well too. I don’t feel you can go wrong with Simms – gore tex or not.

I’ll just say I’m pretty sold on Gore-Tex and I think you’re making a good decision.
