Late trip report from September to the Lost Coast of Alaska. The lost coast refers to the stretch of land between the Wrangell St. Elias range on one side and the gulf of Alaska between Cordova and and South East Alaska. We started in Anchorage, held over in Cordova and took off from there. My buddy’s family is now grandfathered into a cabin in an area that will never contain any additional cabins. The pictures can tell the rest of the story.

The Cabin

The Backdrop – The Wrangle St. Elias

The food shot – Salmon Chowder

Setting the hook

This flat is a special place. If the stars aligned and everything worked in your favor, they would eat skated drys here.

The Company – these three were regulars at the river mouth.

Hero Shot – Grip’in an a Grin’in

Some cool fishing in an amazing place. The river substrate was glacial silt and sand, just water flowing over sand. Sinking past your knees was common. I am new into the spey game so it was nice to finally catch fish with the long rod. Thanks to my buddy Jeremy for an amazing invitation.
