September got to have flies for Yellowstone

Anything special? I tend to fish hoppers, hoppers and more hoppers, got any special patterns I need to look at.

I wore out the Cutts up in the second meadow of Slough on my trusty Smokies dry, just to see if I could.

I feel the same way about ants as you do about hoppers. I tie a #14 black foam ant that is my go-to fly when they ignore the hoppers. I just got back from Slough and a #14 Rainy’s Foam Hopper was The Bomb!

Maybe I’ve been lucky or blessed, but of the 6 times I’ve been out to the stone, them fish act like they haven’t had nothing to eat in weeks.

I would actually consider bringing some big orange and black cicadas.
