This advice comes from a guy that has been to Seattle twice…ever…but back in 2005 we spent a couple of days in the Lake Cowichen area of Vancouver Island and fished with a guide for chinooks, chum, and coho. It was epic. At that time he was saying that he was going to start running some spring trips on the ocean for coho. Check him out at http://www.kenzies.com. We stayed at his lodge…and it was a great experience for the wife and I. He also does trout trips…float plane trips to back country areas…etc…etc… He offers a quality experience on wilderness water.
Though we didn’t fish there…but there is some fly fishing to do…Tofino on the Western coast of Vancouver Island was everything that you expect B.C. to be. We stayed at the Long Beach Resort which is right on the ocean. It is by far one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at.
If you are into coffee at all…then check out one of several coffee shops called Vivace. There is one right across the street from REI and two others close by that area. They take coffee to a new level…like when pouring the cream into your Cafe Mocha they make fern leaves around the rim of the cup. Amazing. By far the best Cafe Mocha(s) I’ve ever had.
Just my two cents worth…
